How to change my mind to align with Christ? (Colossians 3:1-5)


Focus Scripture: Colossians:1-5

FOCUS ON THE THINGS ABOVE 

Most of us don’t realize it, but our life usually moves in the direction of our thoughts. So many people are fearful, people are panicking and losing themselves but we must understand where your mind lives, your heart follows. Where your focus stays, your future grows. Paul’s words in Colossians 3:2 are simple. Set your mind on things above, not on earthly things. 

NOT OF THIS WORLD 

I know bills are loud. Stress is loud and the media can be even louder but don't get distracted. We should be mindful of these things but these things shouldn't be louder then Christ. Paul doesn't say visit heaven with your thoughts. He says set them there. The bible teaches us we're saved and raised with Christ which means we have dual citizenship. We live this life on earth but our permanent address is with Christ. 

EARTHLY THINKING VS HEAVENLY THINKING 

Earthly thinking makes us measure life by pressure not purpose and Heavenly thinking is anchoring. When Paul says set your minds on things above, he’s not saying   ignore reality. He’s saying Interpret reality through heaven. Earth is not our home no matter how dark things get. We should always remember we have a bright future    cause God is still in control. 

YOUR CHOICE 

So today ask God to come into your heart to rule and reign. Not just as your Savior but as your Lord. Tell yourself this is not the end of my story. We don't have to win   every battle because Christ already won the war. Heavenly thinking doesn’t remove  pain. It reframes it. It doesn’t deny struggle. It gives it meaning.

REFOCUS TO REPOSITION 

W-hatever you focus on begins to feel the biggest. If you focus on the problem. It grows. If you focus on fear. It multiples. If you focus on the chaos. It controls you. But  when you focus on God's promises. It strengthens you. When you focus on God's   character. It's stabilizes you. Setting your mind on things above is alignment. 

CLOSING 

Once we get saved God comes into our hearts through the holy Spirit and are         affections are supposed to be now for things above. When your mind is anchored in heaven, your life becomes steadier on earth.
